My sky q box won't connect to the internet
WebDepending on the router it may or may not allow icmp by default. In my case I had blocked icmp. I think the dns fix of 8.8.8.8 on the sky boxes is simply an address the sky boxes can ping hence why it works, but I'm not 100% sure. make sense? Mark as New Bookmark WebJan 12, 2024 · I have a 2TB HDR Sky Q box connected via Ethernet and a Sky Q mini that is connected via Wi-Fi. This setup works perfectly fine but I have a HomePlug adapter where the Sky Q mini is, so I connected the mini box via Ethernet and disabled Wi-fi in the 0-0-1-select secret menu. There seems no difference whatsoever.

I am unable to get my Sky Q box to connect to the internet via cable to the Ethernet switch and to the Starlink Router or directly via WiFi to the Starlink Router.

The mini does NOT connect to the internet - only the main box does. As this is not a Sky router, I believe the Sky Q box can't use the 5GHz network (and it doesn't see it anyway).
